Along with the foundation of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery in 1982, Prof. C. Arseni had also begun the annual editing of Romanian Neurosurgery, a journal with the most valuable neurosurgical articles, comprised in one volume, published by the Academy in order to separate it from the former publication, entitled NPN (Neurology, Psychology, and Neurosurgery). After 1990, Romanian Neurosurgery was a biannual journal edited by Prof. A. Constantinovici, being published by the Romanian Academy too.
After 10 years, in 2000, the journal was transferred to Timisoara, being coordinated by Dr. H. Ples, who changed the content, the manner of presentation and the board, by involving several international personalities.
After other 10 years, the journal changes its “nest” again, being edited in Iasi and Dr. St. M. Iencean took it and modernized it. Let us hope that his effort, supported by the clinic team from Iasi, will be Herculean and not Sisyphic.
I appeal to all the Romanian neurosurgeons, whether they are in the country or abroad, to support us in this respect. We all need this journal. We all can become known through our publications, we all aspire to be promoted (especially the academicians). Consequently, we are looking forward to receiving your articles. Prof. Dr. Nicolai Ianovici President of Romanian Society of Neurosurgery
